Withstanding the Harsh: Ruggedized Computer- Military portable computer at Trans2000

It was in earlier decades when rugged battlefields largely meant a rack mounted command and control system that was capable of withstanding extreme temperature, shock, vibrations and everything. And with time, this capability of rugged computers to withstand harsh temperature became important for anything and everything. The onboard computing has become increasingly common and crucial for weapon, military and related platforms. And this has called in for a need of more complex, and more enduring computers. The requirements now days have a mission to control, communicate, command, surveillance and almost everything of this sort from devices that are carried by small fighter units or war fighters.

The earth has different geographical situations ranging from hot deserts to the harsh peaks of Himalayas and to combat the same ruggedized computers were evolved and developed for military uses specially! While they are just like the usual desktop, the different lies in that while PC and desktops are standard to be used in offices and homes, the Military portable computer at Trans2000 are designed in-lined with technological and geographical world. They can withstand the remote and harsh locations.

Rugged PCs and their rackmounts are prone to sustain and endure sever punishments and even then stay functional. They come with built in seal resistance to dust, dirt, water and daily abuse like bumping and dropping on ground. The good news is they run anyways. Why they are so stronger, let’s know more:

Casing is Stronger:

Military portable computers at Trans2000 are made up of stronger metal, aluminium rather than plastic that does not accounts to be as much strong. The aluminium being light weight is more robust and resistant to impacts and harms. This provides protection to delicate parts of rugged PC from physical damage, shocks, and mounting.

Shock mounting

Another impressive feature that contributes to the performance of rugged PCs is their resilience to physical damages of shock mounts on certain delicate components like Hard Drive. When installed in fields, even if they are subjected to shock and vibration, they are far more stable and performance oriented.

Waterproofing

There are many ways through which rugged PCs can keep water or moisture at bay from seeping inside the systems. While usual computers and desktops get damages even if little water seeps or get spilled over them, the rugged PCs are tightly sealed giving protection from water, dust, dirt, heat, cold and other harsh condition. The best example in this case is: Military portable computer at Trans2000.

And more importantly, one thing to be noted is that semi rugged computers do not come with such efficiency. Though they have their own mechanism of water and moisture resistant, they are less functional then fully rugged PCs. At bare minimum, an industrial rugged or semi rugged monitors comes with spill proof screen and keyboard. This means also beneficial to the foodies, or those who have a habit of drinking, or munching while working.

  1. I am always fascinated by the idea of a more rugged and durable computer- more durable tech generally. I can see all kinds of business applications, particularly when you have got a sales team spending a lot of time on the road and they need computers that are hardy. But also for my kids- both teens- who break everything!
