This made the developers go with the idea of portability. With the addition of this feature, computers with reduced sizes then original computers are made possible to be carried along with us. This is what made the portable computers plant its root in the market. We are well known for the fact that computer has become the need of every corporate as well as on- corporate sector. In every climatic condition, they demand the usage whether it is better best or worst. Since the industry has to work with a certain environment conditions, so computers are supposed to be modified accordingly. This made the rugged computers come into the action.

What are the rugged computers?

Rugged computers are such computers which work in atrocious environments which are really very harsh for the computer system to work on. The working conditions are worst to an extent that the normal computers either portable or not, is not able to work in such conditions. These atrocious conditions can be anything like dust, heat, smoke, vibrations, extremely high temperature, extreme low temperature, and many more similar issues. With the help of rugged computers, it has become possible to work in these physical conditions. The major conditions where rugged computers are made to work upon is public safety. Public safety has to deal with any type of environmental condition, so rugged computers are used in such cases.

Rugged computers and normal computers look almost alike. What makes the high standard rugged portable computers and basic computers different from each other is the strong and thick housing on the rugged systems which is normally absent in the simple computer systems.

By the term rugged portable, we mean that these computer systems are adaptable to any type of temperature. If we place them from a highly cool temperature to a highly hot temperature or any other likewise opposite conditions, they will work well in that condition also. This is the biggest any greatest advantage of these types of computers. These are made waterproof as they have to face certain environmental factors such as evaporation and condensation etc. when they have to change the climate suddenly. Normal computers life will end if they will be placed in such conditions. However, these systems have a good and long life due to which they can be adapted for long term use.
